We are happy to mail any product literature, linecards or brochures that you may request. Please go to our Request Literature page to submit your request. Much of our literature is available for download (.pdf format) Please use our website left menu (Downloads) to download product literature.



Do you sell wheelchair covers, tie-downs or other accessories?
Tie-down ratchet straps, covers and other accessories are available for purchase. Please use our website left menu (Accessories) to view all the accessories that are currently available.



Will a wheelchair or scooter carrier cause any kind of value loss, or cause any damage to my vehicle?
A properly installed wheelchair or scooter carrier will not cause any damage or any other type of value loss to a vehicle. Wheelchair or scooter carriers may even be installed on leased vehicles.



Can I use my wheelchair or scooter carrier in bad weather; i.e. rain / snow?
Our wheelchair and scooter carriers are designed to withstand the elements. The motor on our Model 210 "Lift 'N' Go Carrier is sealed to protect it from rain / water damage.

However, we do strongly recommend covering your wheelchair or scooter, and the carrier especially during inclement weather conditions. We currently offer wheelchair and scooter covers for several of our models that will cover both the wheelchair or scooter, and the carrier itself.

How is the Wheelchair or scooter secured to the carrier?
For Models 210 & 310, the wheelchair is secured to the carrier with three ratchet straps. For models 001L, 003L & 004L, the wheelchair is secured to the carrier by a bungee cord that is wrapped through the front wheels of the wheelchair.



What if I would like to return an item(s), are there any restocking fees?
If you purchased the item(s) from a WheelChair Carrier dealer, you will need to contact that dealer for return information.

If you have purchased the item(s) directly from WheelChair Carrier:

- Returns will be accepted within 30 days of purchase, and will be subject to a 25% restocking charge.
- If a product(s) is returned to our facility in any damaged condition, there may be additional charges applied to the return.

What do I need to do if I need warranty repair or service?
If you purchased the item(s) from a WheelChair Carrier dealer, you will need to contact that dealer for information regarding warranty repair/service.

If you purchased your item(s) directly from WheelChair Carrier, please contact our Customer Service Department. We will need to be advised the nature of the problem, the serial # of the product, and proof of purchase including the date purchased.

Please review our Warranty Policy before contacting WheelChair Carrier to verify that your repair or service request is covered under our Warranty Policy.



What is the best way to order? Can I order directly from you?
You may place your order directly with WheelChair Carrier or with a local WheelChair Carrier dealer. If installation is required for the product you wish to purchase, your local dealer may be able to perform the installation for you. Please visit the "Find a Dealer" page to find a WheelChair Carrier dealer near you. To order directly from WheelChair Carrier, please visit the "How to Order" page.

How can I pay for the order?
WheelChair Carrier accepts the following methods of payment; Mastercard, Visa, C.O.D., personal check or money order. Retail customers, payment must be made in full at time of order.

Will Medicare cover the cost of wheelchair carriers?
Medicare does not cover the cost of wheelchair carriers at this time.

Will my insurance cover the cost of a wheelchair carrier?
Your medical insurance provider may provide coverage for wheelchair carriers and accessories. You will need to contact your medical insurance provider or review your insurance guidelines.

Are there any vehicle modification rebates available?
Yes, some of the top automobile manufacturers such as General Motors, Ford and DaimlerChrysler offer vehicle modification or mobility programs. These programs are for those who wish to modify a new vehicle that has been purchased within the last six months. Several of the mobility programs offer vehicle modification rebates for new automobiles purchased within one year. Please visit the "Rebate Programs" page for more information.

Will I receive a confirmation of my order?
If you faxed or emailed your order (Please refer to the "How to Order" Page), WheelChair Carrier will send you an acknowledgment within 24 hours. We generally do not send acknowledgments for phone orders, however, if you provide us with an email address we can send an order acknowlegment via email upon your request.

WheelChair Carrier also sends "Shipment Notification" emails (if email is provided) that includes the order shipment date, a tracking number and a link that will allow you to track your shipment.

How long will it take to receive my order?
Most orders ship the next business day after your order is placed. Our current shipment method is Fedex Ground and it may take up to 5-7 days to receive your order depending upon where you live in the U.S.

What if I need to receive my order sooner than the standard delivery time?
If the item(s) for your order are available and the order is placed early in the day, we can ship your order Fedex Next Day Air or Second Day Air. Please Please contact our Customer Service Department for expedited shipping rates.

Can you ship to PO or APO boxes?
Because our products ship via Fedex, we are unable to ship to PO or APO boxes.

What is the cost for shipping?
The cost of shipping will vary depending on the weight of the order and the location to where the order is being shipped. Please contact our Customer Service Department to obtain the shipping cost for your order.

What is the cost for sales tax?
Only residents of Ohio will be charged sales tax. If you live in Ohio, you will be charged the Lucas County & Ohio State sales tax rate which is currently 7.25%.

Do you have distributors outside the U.S.? (Can you ship to locations other than the United States?)
At this time, we do not have distributors outside the United States. However, we ship our products to any worldwide location requested. Please feel free to contact our Customer Service Department for information regarding shipping costs to your location. Please provide in your correspondance your full shipping address including postal code, the item number(s) you wish to order with the item(s) description. We typically provide freight quotes the same day or the next business day.


Do your wheelchair / scooter carriers come fully assembled, or is some assembly required?
We assemble our products as much as possible. However for shipping purposes, some components are not attached at the factory. Therefore, some assembly is required.

What are the physical requirements for operating a wheelchair or scooter carrier?
Proper use of a carrier requires that the operator be stable when standing and have use of his or her upper body.

Which Carrier will best suit my needs?
There are many factors that should be taken into consideration when purchasing a wheelchair or scooter carrier. These factors include the type of wheelchair or scooter you have, the weight of your wheelchair or scooter, and the type & class of hitch available for your vehicle.

Carriers are also ideal for vehicles that lack the necessary cargo space for transporting mobility products.

What size hitch do I need? What size hitch is available for my vehicle?
You will first need to verify what hitch sizes are available for your vehicle. Hitchfinder.com allows you to search by the Make and Model of your vehicle so that you can easily find the correct hitch.

This site features Drawtite and Reese brand hitches which can be purchased online at their website. They can also be purchased from any Drawtite or Reese Brand Dealer such as Uhaul.

Please note that each class of hitch has a different load limit and that our wheelchair and scooter carriers require different size hitches.

Please also note that you must NEVER exceed the tongue weight capacity for your hitch.
