Operation Information for the Tilt 'N' Tote Series Carriers
|
For the Tilt ‘N’ Tote and Tilt ‘N’ Tote Plus:
With the carrier in the transport position, tilt the carrier frame to the ground by pushing back on the tilt arm toward the vehicle.
NOTE: The carrier can be lowered and raised using the tab with the yellow plastic cap as a handle.
The frame should touch the ground, or be very close for ease of loading.
With the folded wheelchair at the base of the carrier, tilt the chair back and roll the chair onto the carrier. The front wheels should rest on the front wheel pan and the rear wheels should rest firmly in the rear wheel cradle.
Tilt the wheelchair and carrier by raising the wheelchair hand grips. Continue lifting on the hand grips until the carrier locks into transport position. The tilt latch will snap into place.
Securing the Chair to the Carrier
Raise the extension post high enough that the lock down arm will fit over the rear wheel. Extend the lock down arm so the wheel slot fits over the rear wheel. Tighten the upper handle in order to secure the lock down arm in place.
|
CAUTION !
Do Not Overtighten Plastic Handles.
|
While pushing downward on the Lock Down Arm tighten the lower handle on the Extension Post to secure the rear wheel.
|
CAUTION !
Do Not Overtighten Plastic Handles.
|
Position the rubber bungee cord through the front wheels and hook it on each side of the front wheel pan. There are four slots on each side of the front wheel pan for mounting the bungee cord.
Always verify that the wheelchair is secure before operating the vehicle.
Storing the Carrier
When not in use, the Tilt ‘N’ Tote and Tilt ‘N’ Tote Plus can be folded up toward the bumper of the vehicle.
The carrier tilts up to the folded position by pushing back on the tilt arm the same way as the unit is tilted toward the ground for loading.
Be sure to use the tab with the yellow plastic cap as a handle to raise and lower the carrier.
